Profile:
Andrea Etemadipour has been a professor at the Central University of Ecuador since 2014 and is a doctoral candidate in Social and Political Sciences at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), within the Center for the Study of International Cooperation and Development (CECID). She holds a professional master’s degree in Latin America–Europe Relations (IHEAL) and a research master’s degree in History, Theory, and Methods of Economics (MSE–Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne). She is currently an ARES (Académie de Recherche et d’Enseignement Supérieur) scholarship holder. Her dissertation, titled Technical Education and Professional Trajectories of Young People in Ecuador, examines the processes of youth labour-market integration in the context of technical education in Ecuador and forms part of a broader reflection on new forms of work and transitions from school to entrepreneurship in the Global South. Her research interests include the sociology of work, technical and vocational education and training, and school-to-work transitions.
